Around the World in Eighty Days (Jules Verne) This is a classic adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne, published in 1873. In the story, Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager set by his friends at the Reform Club. Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

It took about nine months for me to read this book through. I know my reading speed is appallingly slow. The book says that, in the world where extroverted people are admired and respected, introverted people also should have confidence in themselves and act as you feel comfortable. However, I don't remember the details of the book because some of its contents were somewhat difficult for me and I couldn't figure out what they really meant. I might read the book again if I had time.

4月20日に読了。シルベスター・スタローン主演の映画「ランボー」の原作本。この長さの洋書を最後まで読んだのは、おそらく初めて。集中的に読む時期と、手にも取らない時期を繰り返して、半年ぐらいかかって読んだ。大まかなストーリーの流れを映画で知っていたから、これほど時間がかかっても読み通せたのだと思う。 I finished reading this book on April 20. This is the original novel of the movie "First Blood" starring Sylvester Stallone (the movie is called "Rambo" in Japan). I think this is the first time for me to go through a book of this length. I had been alternating between reading it intensively and not even picking it up from my desk for about six months. I guess the reason why I was able to read through the book for that long period was because I knew the broad plot of the movie. Kindle版を購入
