get a load of (someone or something) … ～をよく見る、よく聞く … used to tell someone to pay attention to a person or thing that is interesting, surprising, or attractive 映画「フォレスト・ガンプ/一期一会」に出てきた表現。しばしば命令形で、なにか面白いものや珍しいものに驚いたり感心したりして、「見てみろよ、すごいぞ！」のような感じで使うらしい。 《例文》 Hey! Get a load of that car! おい、あの車を見てみろよ！ (すごいぞ！) Get a load of that. He's lifting the truck with his bare hands. あれを見ろよ。彼は素手でトラックを持ち上げているよ。 Did you get a load of what she said? 彼女の言うことを聞いたかい？ (驚いたね)

Netflix のWebサイトのどこにも書いていないが、映画やドラマを一度にたくさんマイリストに登録すると、スパムと見なされて上記の「Netflix Site Error」画面が表示されることがある。 「たくさん」というのが正確にいくつなのかはわからない。私の場合、ドキュメンタリー番組を30個ほどいっぺんにマイリストに追加したところ、それ以降にNetflixにアクセスしようとしても、上記の画面が表示されるだけで、うんともすんともいわなくなった。 [Netflix Home]というボタンがあるが、これをクリックしても何も起こらない。ヘルプを参照したくても、ヘルプページにすらアクセスできない。ヘルプページが見られないので、サポートの電話番号もわからない。まったくお手上げなのだ。 スマホのNetflixアプリを試してみたが、やはりアクセスできない。IPアドレスではじかれているのかと思い、スマホのWi-Fiを切ってみたが、結果は同じ。ログインしなおしたらどうかと思い、いったんログアウトしたら、もう二度とログインできなくなった。 ネット上の情報によると、このエラーが出たら、24時間放置すれば自然に元に戻るらしい。日本のNetflixはTwitterでサポートを提供していないので、 米国のNetflixのサポート用Twitterアカウント を見てみると、上記のエラーの問い合わせに対して「時間が解決する」や「24時間待て」などと返答している。 この情報を信じて24時間待ってみたが、何も変わらない。30時間ほどしてもまだ解決しないので、やはりサポートに電話するしかないようだ。ブラウザがChromeなら、シークレットウィンドウを使えば、Netflixの未加入者向けのページを開くことができる。 問い合わせ先は 0120-996-012 (日本語対応は9:00～21:00) だ。電話して状況を伝えると、予想どおり担当者は「24時間待つように」と言う。最初にエラー画面が表示されてから既に24時間以上たっていることを伝えると、担当者は「この問い合わせの時点から24時間だ」と言う。 それはおかしい。エラー画面には問い合わせ先の電話番号など出ていないし、ヘルプにもアクセスできないのに、電話で問い合わせた時点から24時間後に復旧するとは、まったく筋が通らない。退会...
