The most important thing for happiness (from my Lang-8 posts)

In my last English lesson, my teacher told me to choose the most important thing for my happiness from several choices. I chose "not wanting more than you've got".

The teacher asked me why I thought so. It was a bit difficult for me to explain the reason in English. I said something like the following.

- The more we get, the more we want.
- We can't be satisfied no matter how much we get.
- We can't get everything.
- We should live within our limits.

However I'm not sure whether my answers were to the point.

未来について話すときによく使われる形としては、 will 、 be going to 、 現在進行形 の3つがあります。 ● 純粋に未来を予言する場合 … will または be going to I think it'll rain this evening. この記事では句動詞 drop in on (someone)  の意味と使い方をご紹介します。 I hate it when my friends drop in on me at my home without telling me first. 友達がいきなり家に押しかけてくるのが嫌なんです。 drop in on (someone) は (予告なしに) (人) を訪ねる  という意味です。on の後ろには主に人の名前や人を表す代名詞が続きます。この表現は基本的に「人」を訪ねることを表しており、「場所」には関係がないので、上記の例文では at my home と場所も言っています。たとえば、at my office とすれば、「会社にいる私を訪ねる」という意味です。 on の代わりに at を使って drop in at (somewhere) とすると (予告なしに) (場所) を訪ねる という意味になります。 I dropped in at the beer pub for a drink on my way home from work. 仕事帰りに一杯やろうとビールパブに立ち寄りました。 このように「人」には on 、「場所」には at を使うのですが、ランダムハウス英和大辞典やジーニアス英和大辞典によると、「パーティ」には on と at のどちらも使えるそうです。パーティには主催者がいて、その「人」を訪ねるという意味にも、パーティの「場所」を訪ねるという意味にも取れるからでしょうか。 I dropped in at/on his party. 彼のパーティにちょっと顔を出しました。
