remember、recall、remindの使い分け

● remember

覚えているため、意識しなくても記憶を取り出せる。
否定には don't を使う場合が多い。

I don't remember the title of the book.
その本のタイトルを覚えていない。

● recall

意識的に努力して、過去の事柄を思い出す。
否定には can't を使う。

I can't recall the title of the book.
その本のタイトルを思い出せない。

● remind

外的な要因がきっかけとなって、記憶が呼び起こされる。

The song reminds me of my childhood.
その歌を聞くと子供のころを思い出す。
