recently と lately の使い分け

● recently … 過去形、現在完了形、過去完了形で使う。現在形では使わない。

The singer released a new album recently.
その歌手は最近、新しいアルバムを売り出した。

I have recently been busy both in my public and private life.
最近は公私ともに多忙な生活を送っている。

He went to see a doctor with cold-like symptoms that had recently developed.
彼はここ数日、風邪のような症状が出て、病院を受診した。

● lately … 現在完了形で使い、習慣的な反復行為や継続状態を表す (現在形も可)

There have been a lot of car accidents lately.
最近は自動車事故が多い。

I've been so exhausted lately that it's hard for me to get up in the morning.
疲れがたまって朝起きるのがつらい。

I suffer from a feeling of weariness lately.
